My Third Portland Apartment

Some photos of the latest apartment. Located in trendy Belmont/Hawthorne.

The amount of technology in this apartment is stunning, and rather amusing.

This is the side entrance, early evening. Looking north toward the street. You can see the rear of my truck. This was my first barbecue. I used a chimney to get it going. Let me tell you, lots of smoke in an enclosed area like that is not good. I use lighter fluid now, much against my principles.

The window looks into the kitchen.
This view is into the kitchen from the lounge. The word lounge suggests comfort and ease; not really.

The bar counter is not suited for sitting at, the height is not right.
This is where I am composing this page. Originally, the table was in the bedroom but from the new position in the lounge I look out through a window into the street.

I am using a wireless connection for the laptop.
Aghhhhhhhhhh! I cleared this space up a few days before I took this photo. A lot of stuff I ordered recently started to turn up and I have not had a chance to store the boxes.

The box on top of the microwave contains cutlery and various utensils. Normally, these would go in the drawers. However, mice inhabit them so I have poison in them. I meant to partition the drawers and place a trap at the rear so I could use them but I have not got around to it yet.

I have visions of stuffing broken mouse carcasses down the garbage disposal.

No, the microwave position is not ideal but there is nowhere else for it.
This view is from the lounge, but you probably worked that out already.
A view from the kitchen across my domain.
My bed, at last. Jeremy left his mattress but that is stored against the wall and my hi-tech foam bed rules.
The computer lab. When all this is powered up it sounds like a jumbo jet taking off! It is not designed for residential living. I'm learning, there is method to my madness. Probably.

This is actually after I tidied it up.
OK. This is the bedroom, even I agree it looks more like the tech room at CCCDP. The other end of the bedroom is the workout area but there is not enough space left to move. Not much of a workout. Thank God for the bike, curse God for the weather.
